So you want to make money on the Internet ha? Well, it’s not as easy as some of you might think, but sure possible and highly lucrative if you know how.
Why do you want to make money online? This is the question you should ask yourself first. Let’s look at some possible answers here:

No matter what the reason is, if you want to be successful and make serious money online then there is nothing that could stop you from doing so.
You should first set your goals. How much do you want to make online? Do you just need some extra income, or do you want to become a full time online marketer? You need to establish that right from the beginning. I would suggest you to write it down and hang it somewhere next to your computer.
Next, you want to think about the timeline. How much time do you think is it going to take to achieve your goals? Mark that in your calendar and never forget it.
First of all, I want to inform you that probably 90% of people fail and never make any substantial money online. The reason for that is because they do it wrong, or they compete against too many people.
Before I made any serious cash on the Internet I failed with almost everything I did. It took me a long time to figure out how to do it the right way.
Below I am going to talk about different ways you could start making money online with. I am going to go over proven methods that work so you can start your journey in the right direction.
1. Make Money Online Blogging
Blogging can be very profitable. There are many different ways you can monetize your blog. You could promote affiliate programs, sell advertising, earn money from Adsense, or even sell your own products.
Before you set up your own blog you need to decide what you are going to blog about and what platform are you going to use. I will talk about different blogging platforms later. Let’s talk about finding a niche first.
You need to find a profitable niche, so you can be sure you can monetize the traffic you will get from search engines. The best way to ensure you have a profitable niche is to blog about things that could make people’s life easier, or something that is highly in demand. You see, if there is a demand then people are willing to pay high prices for whatever that is that they want.
To find a niche we need to do keyword research. You want to go after keyword phrases that generate traffic, otherwise you want be able to monetize your blog.
So how do you do keyword research? Well, I use tools like Google Keyword Suggestion Tool, Keyword Elite, and WordTracker. You want to find keyword phrases with at least 15,000-20,000 searches per month. I know that you probably heard that it’s hard to rank for those keywords, but don’t be afraid. It’s not as bad. It takes determination and some cool SEO tactics which I will talk about later.
You want to find about 3-4 main keyword phrases and build the blog around that topic. So once you find your main keywords you should think about a domain name you want to use for that blog.
In my opinion it doesn’t matter if you have keywords in your domain name. You should have keywords in your subpages to boost your chances of getting traffic from your long tail keywords. But your domain name should be something short and easy to remember. Actually, I think that by not having keywords in your main domain name helps if you are going after highly competitive keyword phrases.
Before you actually spend any money on domain name let’s see what are your options as far as blogging platforms. The most popular ones are Blogger.com and WordPress. Both can be hosted on their servers so you wouldn’t even have to get a domain name. In that case I would suggest you to include keywords in your blog’s title.
Both blogging platforms allows to host the blog at your own server. In that case you will need your own domain name and hosting account.
If you are a complete beginner then I suggest you to try free blog option at Blogger. It’s so easy to use and you can have your own blog ready in just a few minutes from now. I personally like WordPress hosted on my own server, because then I have more control over my business and don’t risk anyone deleting my blog, like it happens sometimes with Blogger.
Whichever option you decide to go with it will make you money if you just stay persistent.
The key to successful blogging is to keep posting regularly high quality original content. Once your visitors notice that they will keep coming back for more and most likely will subscribe to your RSS feeds. Not only that, but Google will also reward you for that and send you more traffic your way, which means more money in your pocket.
Once you gain momentum you will see steady income coming in each and every month. When you get to the point where you can afford to outsource your content writing, that’s when you will step into a whole new game of making money online. You can hire freelance writers to write your blog posts and totally outsource your content creation to concentrate on developing new blogs in different niches.
2. Make Money Online As An Affiliate
Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to start making money online. There 2 things you need to make money with affiliate programs. That is traffic and converting product. If you have lots of traffic, but the sales page of the product doesn’t convert then obviously you won’t make any money. If on the other hand you don’t know how to generate targeted traffic, then of course, you won’t make any sales either.
So how do you find a product or service that converts? Well, again you need a product that has high demand in the marketplace. People like things that make their life easier, automate things and saves time and money, or solves their problem that they can’t get rid off.

Selling information is highly profitable. Clickbank is the largest reseller of digital products so you might want to look there first. I suggest you to stay away from “make money online” products. Too much competition in that industry, and that is also one of the main reasons why so many people fail. Why join 90% of other affiliate marketers to promote the same products, while you can join the 10% and have no competition?
Once you find a product you want to promote, you should develop a landing page and presell that product. This will increase your conversions and ROI.
You can promote your landing pages in many different ways. A lot of affiliates use Google Adwords and other networks to drive traffic to their affiliate products.
You could also set up blogs to promote your affiliate products, niche sites, squidoo lenses, write articles, and press releases. Just remember that you want to concentrate on getting highly targeted traffic. For this you will also need to do the right keyword research.
I also want to recommend that you check out CPA networks. They usually have very attractive offers that you can monetize on. Some of those advertisers pay top dollars for a simple lead where the person only needs to fill out a simple form.

What is the difference between affiliate marketer and Internet marketer? Well, affiliate marketer usually concentrate on affiliating a product where he gets a commission for the sale. Internet marketer on the other hand can develop his own products, set up his own affiliate programs, do joint venture partnerships etc.
Obviously if you create your own products you will make a lot more money online. The reason for that can be explained with one word and that is “Leverage”.
You can leverage your efforts by running your own affiliate program for example. Imagine 100 people trying to drive traffic to your website versus you doing it on your own. Much more powerful isn’t it?
Internet marketer usually utilizes all the traffic generation methods available. You can set up networks of blogs, niche sites, drive traffic to your sales letters using Google Adwords, make money with Adsense, and set up join ventures.
Join ventures can make you successful virtually overnight. If you manage to get a super affiliate to promote your product to his list or readers of his blog you could make hundreds of sales. Of course you have to make him or her an offer that they can’t refuse. You could offer high commission payouts like 80-100%. Why 100% ? Well, if you are selling a $47 product and have a relevant backend product that sells for $197 you could give the front-end profits to your joint venture partners. This would make them happy, because they can keep 100% of every sale they make, and you would build a customer list while making money from you backend sales.
Edit: This article was written a few years ago and now you need to pay top dollar commissions on your backend sales as well.

4. Make Money Online With Google Adsense
Making money with Adsense doesn’t get any easier. All you need is a website and traffic. The best way to become successful with Adsense is to build content rich websites where you can count on the free traffic from search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
What is Adsense? Adsense is a contextual ppc program. You simply paste a short java script into your website and Google will stream relevant ads on your website. When your visitors click on it you will get paid a percentage of what the advertiser paid for that click.
Google Adsense can be a great way to generate passive income. If you can create 1 website that makes you $5 per day, then you can set up 50 websites and earn $250 per day. It’s a simple numbers game.
Edit: The Adsense game has changed. You need authority sites with original content to make money with Adsense. Simple 10-15 page sites don’t perform as well anymore, but they are still great feeder sites.
But how can you ensure to make money online with Adsense the faster way? You need to go after a market where there is a lot of searches and cost per click is high. The more competitive the market is the higher cost per click will be.

SEO is not as hard either. It’s all about getting backlinks to your website and building content rich webpages like this one
There are two parts to SEO:
- Onpage Optimization (Meta Tags, Keyword Density, Content)
- Offpage Optimization (Backlinks, Press Releases etc.)
The Offpage optimization is more important than Onpage although in some competitive markets you can’t go without any of them. Once you master SEO you can drive traffic to any website you want. You could become a super affiliate just by taking advantage of SEO and getting the free traffic from search engines.
I am an SEO person myself and love the free traffic. I mean why pay for the click on Adwords when you can get it for free, right? Anyway, SEO takes time to learn and a lot of practice. I suggest you to start reading more about it to develop your own SEO skills.

7. Make Money Online With Google Adwords
Making money online with Google Adwords has become very popular. It all comes down to being able to find profitable niche and building quality landing pages.
You can use Adwords to promote your own products or affiliate products. If you are an affiliate marketer then you want to make sure you’ve found the right products to promote. You need to do very detailed keyword research to get as many relevant keywords as possible.
Next, you need to group those keywords and develop keyword specific landing pages to receive great quality score from Google, otherwise you will end up paying high prices for every click.
You also want to learn more about copywriting. You see, the more attractive your ad copy is the more clicks you will get, which will bring in more sales for you.
Not only that, but you should also set up an autoresponder and capture name and email address from your visitors. You could offer something for free to get them to opt-in to your mailing list. Then just follow up with them trying to pitch your products.
You should probably prewrite a series of autoresponder emails for an entire month and send them out every 3-4 days. This will increase your ROI and you will be building a list.
Edit: Adwords has changed dramatically since this article was published. Google doesn’t allow bridge pages anymore. You need to have great content, and the user needs to be able to get whatever it is you advertise right on your website instead of clicking through a link to go somewhere else.
8. Make Money Online Using Black Hat Techniques
There are many different Black Hat techniques out there, but I am referring to SEO and affiliate black hat techniques. Yes, you can make a lot of money online using them, but there is a downside to it. You see SEO black hat techniques are nothing but ways to trick the search engines to give you top positions in their results.
There are many different software applications developed to help you apply those techniques. For example, you could develop content rich website within 2 minutes using one of the automatic content generation software. You could cloak your pages to redirect all visitors coming to your site to an affiliate link. This is all agains Google TOS and most likely sooner or later your website will get banned.
That’s why I don’t recommend using Black Hat techniques to make money online. I have done it myself, I admit. But you have to constantly keep doing it otherwise your income will stop.
There are also affiliate black hat techniques. For example, you could set cokies on people’s computers without them clicking on your affiliate link. There are scripts out there that will hijack other people’s site so you can benefit from their traffic.
I won’t link to any of the software applications here, but you can find them through affiliate marketing forums, or even searching Google.
9. Make Money Online Through Forums
Making money online using forums can be very profitable. Once you establish yourself by being a good member of a forum you will gain credibility and people will click on your links in your signature box. This mostly apply to affiliate and internet marketing forums, but you can still use forums in other niches.
The only thing you need to remember is NOT to spam. Once you spam you will either be removed from the forum or lose credibility.
So what can you do? Well, you could create an exclusive offer only for the forum members, or post your offers in their specific sections of the forum. If you are an active member your links will spread across the forum, which will get you traffic and possibly sales.
I recommend you check out Warrior Forum. In this forum they have a special section called Warriors Special Offers. You can post your own offers in there and start generating almost immediate income. You have to make sure to put out only quality products, or reports. Make sure you never SPAM.
Through forums you can also meet a lot of new joint venture partners. This is probably the best way to utilize forums to make money online. Networking with other people will get you more leverage, which of course means more profits for you.

10. Make Money Online With Videos
Believe it or not, but now you can make money online creating home made videos and uploading them to YouTube. The cool part is that it’s FREE advertising for your business. You can drive traffic to your affiliate links or websites.
There is no limit on how many videos you can upload. Some of those videos get 100,000s of views. The key to making popular videos is the make them go viral. Funny and controversial videos do very well.
Another benefit of YouTube marketing is your videos can rank high in search engine results for highly competitive keywords.
There are many other sites like YouTube so don’t limit yourself. There is MetaCafe which also shares the revenue with the users. You should also look into some excellent marketing tools that upload your videos automatically to all the video sites with a push of a button.
11. Make Money Online With MLM (Network Marketing)
Network marketing has been around for many many years. Some people hate it and some made millions with it. I myself joined many different MLM programs in the past.
MLM can be very profitable if you know how to recruit new members and have the time to talk to people on the phone. I guess that’s what I hated about it. Too many people need your help and your phone just keeps ringing non-stop.
Your income will depend on the company’s compensation plan and your network marketing skills. It’s not enough to just recruit people, but you also need to teach them how to do the same.
A lot of people get frustrated with MLM programs. There is a big problem in that industry. There is a new company in prelaunch almost every week. People get excited about them and they jump from one company to another without even making any money.
You should stick with only one or two companies. You also want to make sure to join the right team. If you don’t join the right team it will cost you a lot of money. People want to join the fastest growing team, because they count on so called spillover. They want to be lazy and make money from their upline doing all the work.

11. Make Money Online By Outsourcing All Your Projects
Outsourcing is the key to getting rich online. I am serious. All the cool ideas and ways to make money online listed on this page can be outsourced. This means that you could hire someone else to do it all for you.
Think about it for a second. If you are making $25 per hour with your current online business then why not hire someone else to do whatever it is your are doing for $10 per hour, and then move on and create another income stream? This allows you to leverage your efforts and get more things done.
A lot of people got rich on the internet and made a fortune by outsourcing all their work. Did you notice that you can’t get a hold of any of the top internet marketing experts just picking up the phone and dialing the their number? Why, because they have phone support.
